What We Stand For

ECONOMY AND THE COST OF LIVING

Families and small businesses across North Carolina are feeling the strain of rising costs — from groceries and housing to child care and transportation. At the same time, corporate profits have soared, and too often the burden has shifted onto working families.

Terence believes our economic policies should start with the people who live and work here, not just large, out-of-state corporations. He has opposed tax policies that favor powerful interests while small businesses and middle-class families are left behind.

A strong economy is built from the ground up. That means lowering the tax burden on middle-class families, restoring and expanding the Child Tax Credit, investing in affordable child care so parents can remain in the workforce, supporting small farmers and local entrepreneurs, and raising pay for teachers and state employees who keep our communities running.

It also means responsible growth. As northern Wake County continues to grow, developers must contribute to the roads, schools, and public safety infrastructure that growth requires, so longtime residents are not left paying the bill.

In a legislature controlled by a Republican supermajority, Terence has focused on protecting middle-class families, opposing policies that shift costs onto local communities, and advancing practical reforms that put working families first. Terence’s legislative work reflects these priorities.
